One of the most looked-at inflation indicators came in higher
than expected; the PPI number at 1.6% beats estimates. 

 

On the monthly outlook is at 0.6%, which is still on the high side.

 

The guessing game regarding Fed cuts will continue...market expectations remain towards the middle of the year. 

 

The gold rally, which has set new record highs, is perhaps in the first leg, most investors and analysts tend to feel that when rates actually start declining...stronger price activity may develop.

 

Gold has seen a fair amount of fresh capital entering the marketplace.

 

However, with various markets in bubble territory, there is still plenty
of cash seeking a new home...Look for value entry points.

 

Silver is at a 50% discount from its all-time high, while gold just established a new all-time high...may this offer some additional potential in the future.

When Rates Start To Fall. Dear investor.   While the FOMC meeting is taking place, let´s take a moment to understand the potential for precious metals heading into the new year.   If we look at basic economics, in an environment where interest rates are rising sharply, the textbook answer is for the metals to decline in value.   That being said, over the last year, rate hikes were not rising, they were on fire, straight up with no brakes insight...and gold managed to hold, plus, establish a new record high in such hostile conditions.   Then the logical question is, what are the possibilities as interest rates start to fall?   This requires that you calmly digest and review closely the last twelve months.   Tomorrow, the Fed will most likely stay put, with the inflation numbers remaining stable from the last report. Expect Volatility. .
